Naivedyam – September 2023

Session 1 – Kala

Children made the traditional Kala using ingredients such as rice flakes, curds, milk, soaked Dall, pomegranate, puffed jowar. One of the senior students played basri. Children drew the drawing of basri, a favourite instrument of Lord Krishna.

Session 2 – Modak

In this session children learned to make the traditional way of making modak-Ukdiche modak. The soft dough was pleasing to handle and they got engrossed in making the particular shape of the modak.

Session 3 – Vatli daal and Panchakhadya

Children made two favourite prasads of Lord Ganpati. By grating soaked harbhara daal children made vatli daal, and  by mixing roasted coconut(khobra), crystal sugar(khadi sakhar), cardomom powder, kharik powder and poppy seeds(khaskhas) and kismiss. 5things starting with sound Kha.
