Session 1 – Sagargote and Hopscotch
Children were given the information about the seeds and the tree we get sagargote from. They were then demonstrated how to play with them. Children tried to balance throw and catch of these sagargote seeds and enjoyed practicing the act. Children drew a variety of hopscotch designs and played the game which they enjoyed thoroughly.
Session 2 –Vitti-Dandu - Lagori
A traditional village game in India was introduced to children. The knack of hitting the vitti while it
is in the air for few seconds was a challenge that they liked. They could not get their hands off this game!
Lagori- Children had an opportunity to explore a variety of play towers to understand the concept of stacking stones according to size from big to small. They were then explained the game.
Session 3 – Bhovra- Tops
Children were given an exposure to a variety of tops and the techniques to play these tops. They really had a very good time with the ‘tops’ Children were also introduced to the game of marbles. They tried using their fingers and hands to get the exact posture to hit the marbles which seemed a bit challenging
