Session 1 – Visit to Kasba Ganpati- Gramadaivat of Pune Visit to Tambdi Jogeshwari
In this visit to the oldest temples of the city, children revised a little history of Pune city. They got to see the building structures and some stories about these deities of Pune city, which are believed to protect the city.
Session 2– Visit to an old building- Wada and Lal Mahal
This was a visit to an old building in Pune called a Wada. Children got insight to how these houses were built and all the time relevant facilities that were there in these buildings.
Children got to get a glimpse of Shivaji’s life scenes as they visited the Lal Mahal. They got to know the stories about Lal Mahal and felt proud that Shivaji Maharaj lived in Pune during his childhood years.
Session 3– Pune University
Session 4– Meet the Mayor
It was an interesting day to meet the Mayor of Pune City. At his office children got to listen to Man Ki Baat by our honourable Prime Minister and later interact withour Mayor- Mr. Murlidhar Mohol and Hon Minister Prakashji Javdekar. Children asked questions about the work he did as a Mayor and also gave him some requisitions for children.
Session 5–Film Archives
The visit to Film Archives was a true feast for the children. They thoroughly enjoyed watching the children’s movie ‘Bokya Satbande’ sitting in the private premier theater. They were awestruck to see the collection of movies in all languages of India and the way they were maintained there. Right for the times of movies the journey of variety of reels to the latest technology movies children got to see everything.
Session 6–Visit to Empress Garden
One of the oldest garden of Pune is the Empress Garden. Children observed the variety of trees and plants in the vicinity. The huge barks and expanse of the trees disclosed their age and children were astonished to see such big and old trees. The nursery there was full of a variety of plants for sale.
Session 7–Khatri Pot Ice cream visit
Session 8–Visit to Nehru Stadium
Everyone despite of being young or old, girl or boy often enjoys watching a cricket match. Here children got a chance to visit Pune’s oldest cricket ground, which is in the heart of the city. They could witness a match going on sitting in the stands. They also got a chance to interact with players of the teams there and try on their cricket gears.
Session 9–Visit to Kothrud Bus Depot
The bus depot visit was a wonderful experience for children. The depot personnel took keen interest in showing us around the depot. He answered children’s questions and gave a lot of information about how so many bus routes are coordinated, ticketing done and accounts kept.
